On Sunday night/Monday morning, tornadoes touched down in the Union Lutheran Cemetery, located Zionsville, IN. A number of trees on the property were uprooted and a number of the graves were destroyed due to the weather system. The cemetery dates back to the 1800s and the caretaker, David Miender, of the cemetery is asking for assistance. A local photographer, Justin Sparks, is assisting by taking photos of the damage for insurance purposes but says, “the cemetery can barely afford to pay for the grass, let alone major tree removal.”
